HARBOURS ACT 1964 (AS AMENDED)

THE ARDROSSAN (TRANSFER OF UNDERTAKING) HARBOUR REVISION ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT The Ardrossan (Transfer of Undertaking) Harbour Revision Order 2026 was made by the Scottish Ministers on 16th June 2026 and came into operation on 17th June 2026. As such, Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited is now the statutory harbour authority for Ardrossan Harbour.

Public notices were placed on 11 March 2026 and again on 18 March 2026 inviting representations in accordance with the Act. Transport Scotland has taken into consideration all matters listed in paragraph 19(1) of Schedule 3 to the Harbours Act 1964 (‘the Act’).

Transport Scotland is satisfied the Order is desirable in respect of purposes set out in section 14(2)(b) of the Act and has authorised making of the Order with minor modifications, not affecting the character of the Order, to the drafting of the Order that it considers appropriate.

The Order, statement in support, and details of the decision can be found at:

https://www.transport.gov.scot/transport-network/ports-and-harbours/harbour-orders/harbour-order-decisions/.

A copy of the Order may be inspected, free of charge, during normal office hours at Caledonian MacBrayne, The Ferry Terminal, Ardrossan, KA22 8ED.

Any person who desires to question the making of the Order on the grounds that there was no power to make it or that a requirement of the Harbours Act 1964 was not complied with in relation to it may within the six week period from the date the Order became operative make an application for this purpose to the Court of Session. Any person challenging the decision to make the Order is advised by Transport Scotland to seek legal advice before acting.
