Proposal to expand two special schools in Bristol: Briarwood School and Kingsweston School

Bristol City Council proposes to expand two SEND schools to increase the number of places to meet growing demand for SEND school places in Bristol.

Proposal: Briarwood School (increase from 168 to 234 places from September 2026)

Kingsweston School (increase from 180 to 201 places from November 2026)

Consultation is open from 16 June to 14 July 2026.

Residents are invited to give their views by completing the council’s consultation survey: www.bristol.gov.uk/ask
