DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2026
The above Order, made on 17 June 2026, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding to them Restricted Byway Blaydon 126 from Horsegate Bank, Point A on the Order map, grid reference NZ12525978, proceeding in a westerly direction on a well-worn muddy track where it is joined from the south by Footpath Blaydon/26/2, continuing for approximately 52 metres, where it is joined by Footpath Blaydon/7/2 from a north easterly direction and continuing for a further 56 metres, where it is joined by Footpath Blaydon/8/1 from a north westerly direction, continuing to Lead Road, point B on the Order map, grid reference NZ11575981. The route is approximately 980 metres in length and 3 metres in width. A copy of the Order and the Order map may be viewed online at www.gateshead.gov.uk/consultations or at the information desk on the ground floor of Gateshead Council's Civic Centre, Regent Street, Gateshead, NE8 1HH, Monday to Thursday between 8.45am and 5.00pm and Friday between 8.45am and 4.30pm.
Copies of the Order and map may be purchased for the price of £7.25. Any representation or objection relating to the Order must be sent in writing to be received by the undersigned at the above address or by email to RightsofWay@gateshead.gov.uk not later than 07 August 2026 and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which it is made. If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Borough Council of Gateshead, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State may itself confirm the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
