PUBLIC INSPECTION NOTICE - ACCOUNTS 2025-2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in accordance with the provisions of sections 101 and 195 of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 and Regulations 9 (1) to (3) of the Local Authority Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2014 that:
(a) The Abstract of the accounts of the Lothian Valuation Joint Board for the financial year to 31 March 2026, to be audited as required in terms of the foregoing regulations and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating thereto, will be available for public inspection by any interested person during the following hours (Monday to Thursday, 9am to 4pm and Friday, 9am to 3.30pm) over the fifteen working-day period from Wednesday 1 July 2026 to Tuesday 21 July 2026, both dates inclusive.
The unaudited accounts of Lothian Valuation Joint Board will be published on the website of Lothian Valuation Joint Board at Lothian Valuation Joint Board (Annual Accounts) by 1 July 2026.
Any requests for inspection must thereafter be sent for the attention of the Treasurer at corporate.finance2@edinburgh. gov.uk. whereupon the request(s) will be considered and, wherever possible, the requested information provided electronically. Where this is not possible, the Board will make arrangements to provide access.
(b) Any person interested may inspect the abstracts of accounts to be audited and the supporting information outlined at (a) above and make copies thereof free of charge. A charge may apply in cases where copies are provided by the Board.
(c) Any person interested may object to the accounts or to any part of the accounts. Any objection must be sent in writing, stating the grounds for the objection, to Christopher Gardner, Senior Audit Manager, Audit Scotland, 102 West Port, Edinburgh, EH3 9DN, not later than Wednesday 22 July 2026, sending a copy of that objection and statement, in electronic format, to Richard Lloyd-Bithell, Treasurer, Lothian Valuation Joint Board, c/o The City of Edinburgh Council, richard lloyd-bithell@edinburgh.gov.uk.
(d) Any person objecting to the accounts may ask to appear in person before the auditor or appoint a representative to put the case in relation to their objections. Such requests should be made in writing, using the relevant contact details above.
