Notice of application for a transfer licence
to abstract (take) water
Balfour Beatty Civils Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from Waveney and East Suffolk Chalk & Crag at one construction site near Benacre, Suffolk to transfer it to a tributary of Hundred River at northeast of Benacre without intervening use.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
• 100.8 cubic metres an hour
• 2,419.20 cubic metres a day
• 883,008 cubic metres a year
• between 09 July 2026 and 01 June 2028.
This abstraction will only take place when there is a need to dewater excavations.
The associated discharge permit application reference is: EPR/WP3728MQ/A001.
