NOTICE is hereby given that on the 10th June 2026 the Borough Council of Calderdale (‘the Council’) in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act” made the The Borough Council of Calderdale (Car Parks) Consolidation Order 2019 (Variation No. 1) Order 2026, the effect of which will be to:
Designate formal public parking at land off Rose Street, Todmorden in to the Parking Places Order (PPO), with the introduction of pay and display charges of; up to 1 hour £1.00, up to 2 hours £2.00, up to 3 hours £3.00, up to 4 hours £4.00, up to 5 hours £5.00, up to 6 hours and over £6.00, and will be in operation between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm Monday-Saturday, excluding Bank Holidays.
The land will be incorporated into the existing Halifax Road Car Park, Todmorden and will be redesignated collectively as ‘Halifax Road Car Park’, Todmorden, for both sites, with a new plan identifying the perimeter of the combined site.
The Order will come into effect on 15th June 2026.
Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order, including the statement of reasons for proposing it, and plans showing the affected car parks, are available for inspection at Halifax Central Library, Halifax, HX1 1QG, from 10.00 am to 5.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays and 10.00 am to 4.00 pm on Saturdays. Copies of the documents can be viewed on the Council’s website at: www.calderdale.gov.uk/tro. Alternatively, documents can be made available on request via email (proposedtro@calderdale.gov.uk) or telephone 01422 288001 or 288002.
If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the ground that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made (10 June 2026) apply to the High Court for this purpose.
