THE LEICESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

PROPOSAL TO PROVIDE AN ENHANCED RESOURCE BASE AT WOODCOTE PRIMARY SCHOOL ASHBY (DFE NO 2373)

Notice is hereby given in accordance with the Education and Inspections Act 2006 and The School Organisation (Prescribed Alterations to Maintained Schools) (England) Regulations 2013 (updated October 2018) that Leicestershire County Council of County Hall, Glenfield, Leicester LE3 8RF proposes to provide an Enhanced Resource Base at: Woodcote Primary School (a community School), Willowbrook Close, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire, LE65 1JX

The unit will have 10 places for pupils. The units will primarily provide places for 1 academic year at a time. The unit will start with EYFS moving through 7 years of primary education finishing at year 6.

The arrangement will begin from August 2026 and will be accommodated in the existing school building.

Part 3 of the Children and Families Act 2014 Act sets out the duties required to be met by Local Authorities and other partners for Children and Young People in England with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Local authorities have legal duties to identify and assess the special educational needs of children and young people for whom they are responsible. Local Authorities become responsible for a child or young person in their area when they become aware that the child or young person has or may have SEN.
