What is happening?
Statutory Notice – Proposal to discontinue the Hove Park School Valley Campus site, Hove and consolidate the school on the Nevill Campus site
Notice is given in accordance with section 19(2) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 (as amended) and the School Organisation (Prescribed Alterations to Maintained Schools) (England) Regulations 2013 that Brighton & Hove City Council, Hove Town Hall, Norton Road, Hove, East Sussex BN3 3BQ, proposes to make a prescribed alteration to Hove Park School (a maintained secondary school).
The proposal is to discontinue the use of the Valley Campus, Hangleton Way, Hove, East Sussex BN3 8AA, as an additional site of Hove Park School with effect from 31 August 2028, and to consolidate all provision onto a single site at the Nevill Campus, Nevill Road, Hove, East Sussex BN3 7BN, with effect from 1 September 2028.
Hove Park School currently provides education for pupils aged 11 to 18 across two sites. As of January 2025, the school operates with a published admission number of 180 pupils per year group. Pupils in Years 7 and 8 are currently educated at the Valley Campus, and pupils in Years 9 to 13 at the Nevill Campus.
If the proposal is approved, all pupils attending the Valley Campus, and all pupils offered a place at that site, will be accommodated at the Nevill Campus site at Nevill Road, Hove, East Sussex, BN3 7BN from 1 September 2028.

Within four weeks from the date of publication of this notice, any person may object to or make comments on the proposal. The closing date for representations is 5:00pm on 6 July 2026.
