What is happening?

ENVIRONMENT AGENCY

Water Resources Act 1991 (as amended by the Water Act 2003) Notice of application for a full licence to abstract (take) water Hobson Farming Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from Riccall Common Dyke between National Grid References SE 63485 35916 to SE 65045 36224.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 60 cubic metres an hour
  • 1,200 cubic metres a day
  • 40,000 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 31 October inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for spray irrigation. The water to be abstracted will be supported by a transfer into the Riccall Common Dyke under licence serial number NE/027/0028/043/R01.
