What is happening?

ANNOUNCEMENT OF INTENTION NOT TO PREPARE AN ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT

under Regulation 5 of the Environmental Impact Assessment

(Land Drainage Improvement Works) Regulations 1999 (as amended)

Proposed project at: Upper Salmons Brook, between Stagg Hill and Hadley Road, EN2 8AD

Notice is hereby given that the London Borough of Enfield’s Blue & Green Infrastructure Team intends to carry out river restoration works along the upper Salmons Brook River as part of flood protection and habitat enhancement works in the catchment.

The proposal includes the restoration of 3.4km of the Salmons Brook River within rural Enfield (between Stagg Hill and Hadley Road). The works include floodplain regrading, installation of large woody debris and channel infilling to encourage the river to create a natural route and provide complexity within its floodplain. The works will help reduce the risk of flooding to properties downstream.

It is considered that the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an Environmental Statement in respect of them.
