Notice of Definitive Map Modification Order 

Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 - Section 53 
The Definitive Map and Statement for the Former Carrick District Area 

The Cornwall Council (Addition of a Restricted Byway at Highertown in the Parish of Truro) Modification Order 2026 

The above order made on 21 May 2026, if confirmed as made, will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by: 

Adding a length of Restricted Byway in the Parish of Truro commencing at Unclassified Road U6071 'Newbridge Lane', 384 metres west-north-west of "Dudman Farm" at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) SW 8020/4470, then running in a east-south-easterly then south-easterly direction for a distance of 688 metres and terminating at its junction with Unclassified Road U6071 'Penwethers Lane', 293 metres south-south-east of "Dudman Farm" at OSGR SW 8068/4426. 

A copy of the order and order map can be downloaded from Cornwall Council's website at the following address: https://www.cornwall.gov.uk/environment/countryside/definitive-map-modification-orders/made-definitive-map-orders/. Copies of the order and map may also be requested by email from PROWOrders@cornwall.gov.uk or by telephoning 0300 1234 202. Copies of the order and map have also been placed and can be viewed at Truro Community Library, Union Place, Truro, TR1 1EP from 09.00 am to 17.00 pm Monday to Friday, and from 10.00 am to 16.00 pm on Saturday. 

A copy may also be viewed at the Offices of Cornwall Council at New County Hall, Treyew Road, Truro, TR1 3AY on 9.00 am to 5.00 pm on Monday to Friday (Bank Holidays excepted).

Any representation about or objection to the Order must be sent in writing to the Public Rights of Way Team Leader, Cornwall Council, New County Hall, Treyew Road, Truro, Cornwall, TR1 3AY (quoting Reference WCA 715) not later than 16th July 2026 stating the grounds on which they are made. 

If no representations or objections are duly made to the order, [or to any part of it], or if any so made are withdrawn, the Cornwall Council, instead of submitting the order to the Secretary of State [(or part of it if the authority has by notice to the Secretary of State so elected under paragraph 5 of Schedule 15 to the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981)] may itself confirm the order [(or that part of the order)]. 

If the order is submitted to the Secretary of State (in whole or in part) any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with it.
