Community Wellbeing NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF MODIFICATION ORDER SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE & COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
DEFINITIVE MAP & STATEMENT FOR THE FORMER NORTH CORNWALL DISTRICT AREA THE CORNWALL COUNCIL (ADDITION OF A PUBLIC FOOTPATH AT MAER LANE IN THE PARISH OF BUDE STRATTON) MODIFICATION ORDER 2026
On 21 May 2026, Cornwall Council confirmed the above order made under section 53[(2)(b)] of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the definitive map and statement for the area by:
Adding a length of Public Footpath in the Parish of Bude Stratton from its junction with Bridleway 2 Bude Stratton 297 metres west-north-west of’ Orchardleigh’ at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) SS 2032/0787, and continuing in an east-north-easterly then south-south-westerly direction for 485 metres, terminating at its junction with Footpath 4 Bude Stratton, 71 metres north-east of’ Orchardleigh’ at OSGR SS 2065/0788.

A copy of the Order & Map has been placed & may be seen free of charge at Bude Library and Information Service, The Wharf, Bude, EX23 8LG on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 10am to 5pm and Saturdays 10am to 1pm (Bank Holidays excepted). A copy may also be viewed at the Offices of Cornwall Council at New County Hall, Treyew Road, Truro, TR1 3AY from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (Bank Holidays excepted).
The order comes into force on the day that it is confirmed but if any person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity on the ground that that it is not within the powers of Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or on the ground that any requirement of Schedule 15 of the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may under paragraph 12 (1) of Schedule 15 to the Act within six weeks from 3 June 2026, make application to the High Court. 3 June 2026
