HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 - SECTION 116 STOPPING UP OF PUBLIC HIGHWAYS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Liverpool City Council intends to apply to the Liverpool & Knowsley Magistrates’ Court, Queen Elizabeth II Law Courts, Derby Square, Liverpool, L2 1XA at 10:00 on 9th July 2026 for an Order under Section 116 of the above Act, for the stopping up of Part of Anfield Square (Bagnall Street, Baltic Street and adjoining areas of highway) on the ground that it is unnecessary.
A plan showing the effect of the proposed Order may be inspected, without payment, by appointment only between the hours of 10:00 and 16:00 on Monday to Fridays inclusive, at Legal Services, Liverpool City Council, Cunard Building, Water Street, Liverpool, L3 1AH. To book an appointment or to receive the plan by e-mail, please contact Charlotte Atkinson at legal.planning@liverpool.gov.uk.
On the hearing of the application any statutory undertaker having apparatus under, in, upon, over, along or across the highway, the owners and occupiers of lands adjoining the highway, any person who uses the highway and any other person who would be aggrieved by the making of the Order shall have a right to be heard.
