Pulford Lane/Dodleston Lane - Temporary Restriction of Traffic to Enable Cyclical Maintenance Works

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14
THE A483 TRUNK ROAD (NORTHBOUND & SOUTHBOUND CARRIAGEWAYS) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the A483 Trunk Road, in the Borough of Cheshire West and Chester, in the County of Cheshire, to enable cyclical maintenance works, to be carried out in safety.
The Order will:
a) impose a 40mph speed limit on the following sections of the A483 Trunk Road:
i. the northbound carriageway, from the England/ Wales border (Pulford Brook), to a point 165 metres south of the Pulford Lane/Dodleston Lane Bridge;
ii. the southbound carriageway, from a point 100 metres north of the Pulford Lane/Dodleston Lane Bridge, to the England/Wales border (Pulford Brook).
b) impose a 50 mph speed limit on the A483 southbound carriageway, from a point 950 metres north of the Pulford Lane/Dodleston Lane Bridge, to a point 100 metres north of the same point.
The works are expected to take place overnight between 19:00 and 06:00 during a period starting on Sunday 5 July 2026 and ending on Tuesday 7 July 2026 and restarting again overnight between 19:00 and 06:00 during periods starting on Sunday 26 July 2026 and ending on Tuesday 28 July 2026 and restarting again overnight between 19:00 and 06:00 during periods starting on Sunday 4 October 2026 and ending on Monday 5 October 2026. However, works may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights until completion.
The restrictions will not apply to emergency services, or special-forces vehicles, and will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs. The Order comes into force on 4 July 2026 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
