CLOSURE OF SLAINS SCHOOL

Aberdeenshire Council is consulting on the proposal to discontinue education at Slains School, which is now demolished, and re-assign the catchment area to either Newburgh Mathers School, Port Erroll School or Hatton (Cruden) School.

The consultation will run between 18 May and 3 July 2026, any comments on the proposal must be received within this time frame. They should be emailed to LearningEstates@aberdeenshire.gov.uk or posted to Learning Estates Team, Education & Children’s Services, Aberdeenshire Council, Unit 15, Harlaw Way, Inverurie AB41 4SG.

A public meeting to discuss the proposal will be held on Wednesday 10 June at 6pm at Collieston Community Centre, Hightown, AB41 8RS.
