Oak Common Great Western Mainline Track Access) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given under section 14(4) of the Transport and Works Act 1992 (“the Act”) that the Secretary of State for Transport has determined, under section 13(1) of the Act to make the Network Rail (Old Oak Common Great Western Mainline Track Access) Order 2026 (“the Order”). The Order was applied for by Network Rail Infrastructure Limited of Waterloo General Office, London SE1 8SW (“Network Rail”).
The Order will confer powers on Network Rail to acquire compulsorily a right over land and to use land temporarily, as well as to use the land within the Order limits as a construction compound, including provision of a temporary ramp, all in connection with the development of a temporary road rail vehicle access onto the Great Western Main Line railway to enable delivery of Old Oak Common Station, and the provision of a permanent maintenance access point for road rail vehicles onto the Great Western Main Line.
Copies of the Order, once made, may be obtained from the Stationery Office or through booksellers.
The Secretary of State has, pursuant to section 14(1) of the Act, published notice of this determination by way of a decision letter dated 18 May 2026, copies of which may be obtained either at: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/ twa-inspector-reports-anddecision- letters or from the Transport Infrastructure Planning Unit, Department for Transport, Great Minster House, 33 Horseferry Road, London SW1P 4DR.
The decision letter gives the reasons for the determination and the considerations upon which it is based, as well as information about the public participation process and the right to challenge the validity of the determination and the procedures for doing so.
