PUBLIC NOTICE

Notice under Section 123(2A) of the Local Government Act 1972 of the intended disposal of Open Space Land

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN for the purposes of Section 123(2A) of the Local Government Act 1972 that Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, being the owner of the freehold parcel of land described below which is partly held and maintained as public open space, intends to dispose of the said land (described below as the Property) by way of a freehold transfer to Horley Town Council with the intent that the Property shall continue to be used as public open space land.

Description of the parcel of land
The land and buildings known as Bay Close Recreation Ground, Bay Close, Horley, RH6 8LE (“the Property”) forming part of the open space land registered with freehold title number SY520292. 

Further details of the land, including a plan showing the relevant part of the Property edged red, can be found on the Council’s website at reigate-banstead.gov.uk/public-notices and may also be inspected at the Town Hall, Castlefield Road, Reigate RH2 0SH during normal office hours by giving 48 hours’ notice.

NOTE: Any objections or representations with respect to the proposed disposal must be made in writing quoting the reference “Community Asset Transfer – public open space” and may be sent by email to communitypartnerships@reigate-banstead.gov.uk or alternatively in the post for the attention of the Community Partnerships Team at the Town Hall, Castlefield Road, Reigate RH2 0SH to be received no later than 5pm on 18 June 2026.
