What is happening?

Notice of Making of a Public Path Diversion Order, Town & Country Planning Act 1990, The North Yorkshire Council, Footpath No. 05.14/78 Cowling Diversion Order 2026

The Authority gives notice that it has made an Order on 08/05/26 under Section 257 of the Town & Country Planning Act 1990 because it is satisfied that it is necessary to divert the public footpath described below to enable development described in the Schedule to be carried out in accordance the planning permission granted under reference CRAZA25/26671/FUL.

Footpath 05.14/78 running generally in a north easterly direction for approximately 59 metres across fields to a gap in the southern boundary wall at Grid Reference SD 9430 4354. From a gate in the northern boundary wall at Grid reference SD 9430 4354 proceeding in a generally north westerly direction for approximately 87 metres to a gate in the wall on Warley Wise Lane at Grid Reference SD 9427 4362, all on a grass surface. The footpath width will be 3 metres.

A copy of the Order & Order map may be inspected free of charge during normal office hours at North Yorkshire Council, 1 Belle Vue Square, Broughton Road, Skipton BD23 1FJ, & viewed online at www.northyorks.gov.uk/roads-parking-and-travel/public-rights-way/rights-way-public-notices/

Any representations about or objections to the Order may be sent or delivered in writing to Andrea Muscroft at North Yorkshire Council, 1 Belle Vue Square, Broughton Road, Skipton, BD23 1FJ not later than 19/06/26. Please state the grounds on which they are made.

Please note that objections & representations cannot be treated as confidential & may come into the public domain. Copies of any objections or representations received may be disclosed to interested parties, including the Planning Inspectorate if the case is referred to it for determination.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, The North Yorkshire Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for confirmation, any representations & objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.

Full planning permission for the dismantling of existing portal framed building including extensions. Conversion & extension of traditional agricultural building, change of use class to provide a wedding/events venue & associated external works & landscape works.
