TO OPEN A SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL HEALTH (SEMH) UNIT AT BROUGHTON COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
Notice is given in accordance with section 19 of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that Buckinghamshire Council intends to open a Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Unit with effect from 1st September 2027 at:
Broughton Community Schools, Broughton Avenue, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, HP20 1NQ
As part of our SEND Education Sufficiency Strategy the Council sought expressions of interest from Schools interested in opening a primary age inclusion unit for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). Broughton Community Schools submitted an expression of interest to open a Unit to meet the demand for places. We are therefore proposing to open a Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Unit at Broughton Community Schools, Aylesbury.
Buckinghamshire Council has complied with all applicable statutory requirements to consult in connection with this proposal. At the conclusion of the Notice period, if permission is granted by Buckinghamshire Council’s Leader in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Education and Children’s Services, Buckinghamshire Council will implement the proposal.
