Notice Of Confirmation Of Modification Order Section 53 Of The Wildlife And Countryside Act 1981 (Feltwell & Littleport – Iron Bridge) Modification Order 2023

The above Order, made on 6th December 2023, was confirmed by an Inspector appointed by The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on 1st April 2026.

The effect of the Order, as confirmed, is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding a public footpath starting from a point on Feltwell Bridleway No. 9 at grid reference TL 6212 8929 and running in a south south-west direction over the wooden decking of the footbridge for approximately 14 metres to the county boundary of Norfolk and Cambridgeshire at grid reference TL 6212 8928. The footpath continues for approximately 14 metres over the wooden decking in the county of Cambridgeshire to join Littleport Footpath No. 15 at grid reference TL 6212 8926. The width of the footpath (the wooden decked section of the footbridge) measures 0.8 metres. Limitations and conditions: None

The Order took effect on 1st April 2026 but if a person aggrieved by the Order desires to question its validity, or the validity of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or on the grounds that any requirement of Schedule 15 of that Act, or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order he may, under paragraph 12(1) of Schedule 15 to the Act, make an application for that purpose to the High Court not later than 19th June 2026.
