NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR VESTING ORDER
ULSTER CANAL RESTORATION PROJECT
PHASE 3.1 & 3.2 WATTLEBRIDGE TO GORTNACARROW
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Waterways Ireland (“the Body”) in pursuance of the provisions of the above Acts and Order has applied to the Department for Infrastructure (“the Department”) for an Order vesting certain lands in the townlands of Annaghmore Glebe and Gortnacarrow, Newtownbutler, County Fermanagh described in the Schedule in the Body in accordance with and subject to the provisions of the above Acts and Order.
The Body desires to acquire the said lands, otherwise than by agreement for the purpose of the restoration of The Ulster Canal Phases 3.1 & 3.2 which runs from Wattlebridge to Gortnacarrow, Newtownbutler, County Fermanagh. A copy of the application and a map of the lands proposed to be acquired may be inspected, by appointment, during office opening hours at the offices of Waterways Ireland, 2 Sligo Road, Enniskillen, BT74 7JY or by prior appointment only at Department for Infrastructure, James House, Gas Works Business Park, 2-4 Cromac Avenue, Belfast, BT7 2JA. An electronic copy may also be viewed online at Waterways Ireland - Ulster Canal Restoration Project.
Anyone who wishes to object to the proposed vesting order being made must write to the Ulster Canal Project Lead, Waterways Ireland, 2 Sligo Road, Enniskillen, BT74 7JY or e-mail ulstercanal@waterwaysireland.org or write to the Department for Infrastructure, James House, Gas Works Business Park, 2 - 4 Cromac Avenue, Belfast, BT7 2JA on or before the 18th day of June 2026, giving their reasons.
