PROPOSAL TO AMALGAMATE YEADON WESTFIELD

INFANT SCHOOL AND YEADON WESTFIELD 

JUNIOR SCHOOL FROM 1 SEPTEMBER 2026

NOTICE IS GIVEN in accordance with section 19 (3) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that the Governing Body of Yeadon Westfield Infant School proposes to change the age range of the school from 3-7 years to 3-11 years with effect from 1 September 2026.

Notice is given in accordance with section 15 (2) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that the Governing Body of Yeadon Westfield Junior School proposes to discontinue (close) the school with effect from 31 August 2026.

This notice includes extracts from the complete proposals which can be obtained from the Sufficiency and Participation Team using the contact details below or by visiting the Leeds City Council website: https://www.leeds.gov.uk/schools-andeducation/planning-school-places

Within four weeks of the date of publication of these proposals, i.e. by 4pm on 17th May 2026, any person may submit comments or objections to: PO Box 837, Sufficiency and Participation Team, Children and Families, Leeds, LS1 9PZ or email educ.school.organisation@leeds.gov.uk
