NOTICE BY HIGHWAY AUTHORITY OF INTENTION TO APPLY TO MAGISTRATES' COURT FOR ORDER UNDER SECTION 116 OF THE HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
FOR STOPPING UP AND DIVERSION OF HIGHWAY AT FOOTPATHS NO 5 & 6, PRESTON BROOK
HALTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

NOTICE is given that an application will be made to the North Cheshire Magistrates Court sitting at Warrington Combined Court, Legh Street, Warrington, WA1 1UR on Wednesday 06 May 2026 at 09:30 a.m. for an order that the length of highway within the Borough of Halton described in the Schedule below be stopped up and diverted under section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 and that the plan associated with the application may be inspected during normal office hours at Halton Direct Link, Halton Lea, Runcorn from 9:00a.m. to 4:30 p.m. open Monday to Friday.
SCHEDULE
PRESTON BROOOK FOOTPATH NUMBER 5
Original line of public right of way, for approx. 150m, running east west in direction from a point D (grid ref.357,988 380,502) to a point E (grid ref.358,109 380,417) to be diverted from a point D (as above) in a generally northerly direction for approximately 3m and with a maximum width of 2m to a point C (Grid ref.357,989 380,504) and then continuing in a generally easterly direction for approx. 150m and with a maximum width of 2m to a point F (Grid ref.358,112 380,417).
PRESTON BROOK FOOTPATH NUMBER 6
Original line of public right of way north south in direction for a distance of approx. 158m and with a maximum width of 2m from a point A shown on map (grid ref.358,028 380,611) to a point B (grid ref.358,039 380,453) to be diverted from a point A (as above) to a point C (Grid ref.357,989 380,504) for a distance of approx.115m. As shown on Plan No. 8070.
