What is happening?

PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER

PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY 23, ALDERNEY WATER TREATMENT WORKS DIVERSION ORDER 2026

The above order made on 25th March 2026 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 will divert that length of Public Bridleway 23 (Part) which commences at point A on the order plan (SZ 04311 95141) and leads in a general south easterly direction for 547m and terminates at point B (SZ 04823 94959) on the Mountbatten Roundabout.

An alternative bridleway will be created which commences at point A (SZ 04311 95141) and leads in a generally north northerly direction for a distance of 145m to point C (SZ 04369 95274) and then leads in a north easterly direction for a distance of 120m to point D (SZ 04480 95317) where it connects with Francis Avenue.

A copy of the order and order plan have been placed and may be seen free of charge by appointment at BCP Council Civic Centre, Bourne Avenue, Bournemouth, BH2 6DY during normal opening hours. You may also view these on BCP Council’s highway consultation page.

Any representations about or objections to the order must be made in writing to Public Rights of Way, BCP Council Civic Centre, Bourne Avenue, Bournemouth, BH2 6DY, or by email to rightsofway@bcpcouncil.gov.uk to be received no later than 27th April 2026, stating the grounds on which they are made.

Please note that any representation made including personal details may be made available to the public.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Council may confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State, Department of Environment Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation, any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
