Notice of S38 Application STAINES MOOR and CHURCH LAMMAS

Affinity Water Limited has applied to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for consent under section 38 of the Commons Act 2006 to carry out restricted works on Staines Moor and Church Lammas Common. The Planning Inspectorate will decide the application on behalf of the Secretary of State.

The proposed works will comprise the installation of a new trunk water main to enable the transfer of up to 40 Ml/d of treated water from Egham to Iver Water Treatment Works. The trunk main forms a key part of Affinity Water Limited's (AWL) Connect 2050 programme and will support a reduction in abstraction from sensitive chalk stream environments by enabling a shift to surface water sourced from the River Thames. During the works, the working area will be fenced to ensure public safety. A total of approximately 2,090 metres of fencing will be required and will enclose an area of approximately 31,417 square metres.

The works and fencing will be located outside of the main body of Staines Moor, to the west of the old disused railway, off Moor Lane, Staines. The works will also impact sections of Church Lammas Common.

A copy of the application form and accompanying documents can be inspected at Staines Library, Unit MSU 2, Elmsleigh Centre, 62 South Street, Staines TW18 4QB during normal office hours until Monday 30th March.

A copy of the application form and accompanying documents may be obtained by writing to Miss Charlotte Rockett, Dalcour Maclaren, The Barn, Bignell Park Barns, Chesterton, Bicester, OX26 1TD or via email at charlotte. rockett@dalcourmaclaren.com
