Hightown Quarry, 40a Boghill Road, Ballyutoag - application for discharge consent
What is happening?
Applications have been made to the Department of Agriculture, Environment & Rural Affairs (DAERA) for consent under the Water (Northern Ireland) Order 1999 to make a discharge of sewage effluent and site drainage into the Waterway arising from a proposed Residual Waste Treatment Facility incorporating a Mechanical and Biological Treatment (MBT) facility, an Energy from Waste (EfW) thermal treatment facility, an Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) treatment facility, a Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) bale storage building, and an Administration/Visitor Centre (planning application T/2014/0114/F currently under consideration by the Department for Infrastructure), situated at Hightown Quarry, 40a Boghill Road, Ballyutoag, County Antrim, BT36 4QS.
