What is happening?
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (EPPERSTONE FOOTPATH NO.1) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION NO.2 ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State Transport in pursuance of the powers conferred by Sections 14 and 15 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 approves of The Nottinghamshire County Council (Epperstone Footpath No.1) (Temporary Prohibition) Order 2024 (which came into force on 17th June 2024 and was continued in force by a Continuation Order which remains in force until 16th December 2025 inclusive) being extended and continuing in force until 16th June 2026 or until completion of the relevant works, whichever is the sooner.
The Order has the following effect:-
No person shall: -
(a) proceed on foot,
in the following length of Footpath at Epperstone in the District of Newark and Sherwood: -
Epperstone Footpath No.1 between the junction with Chapel Lane (Bridleway No.2) and its junction with Church Lane.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there are several alternative routes available.
If the works are not completed within the above period the Order may be extended for a longer period with the further approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.
The prohibition is required to enable approved development adjacent to the footpath and safe access to that development over the footpath, and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath.
