What is happening?
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (SUTTON ON TRENT FOOTPATH NO.5) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:-
No person shall:-
(a) proceed on foot,
in the following length of footpath at Sutton on Trent in the District of Newark and Sherwood :-
Sutton on Trent Footpath No.5 from Main Street between houses to joining point with field.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition will apply as follows:-
From Monday, 5th January 2026 until Tuesday, 5th May 2026 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there will be no alternative route available via public rights of way.
The prohibition shall apply to enable works to be carried out or in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath. It may also apply on subsequent days when it shall be necessary. If the works are not completed within 6 months, the Order may be extended.
The prohibition is required to protect public safety in respect of likelihood of danger to the public while approved building works are carried out to adjacent property.
THIS CLOSURE WILL ONLY TAKE EFFECT WHEN SIGNS INDICATING CLOSURE ARE DISPLAYED
THIS NOTICE IS DATED THIS 11th DAY OF DECEMBER 2025.
