NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF MODIFICATION ORDER
SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE & COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 DEFINITIVE MAP & STATEMENT FOR THE FORMER PENWITH DISTRICT AREA
THE CORNWALL COUNCIL (ADDITION OF A RESTRICTED BYWAY AND FOOTPATHS AT TREVEGEAN IN THE PARISH OF ST JUST) MODIFICATION ORDER 2022
On 6 November 2025, an Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State confirmed the above order made under section 53[(2)(b)] of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the definitive map and statement for the area by:
i) Adding a length of Restricted Byway in the Parish of St Just from existing Footpath 12 St Just 91 metres west-north-west of ‘Due South’ at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) SW 3666/2932, then running in an easterly, then east-north-easterly direction for 101 metres to its junction with another Public Footpath to be added by this Order at OSGR SW 3676/2932, then running in a generally east-north-easterly direction for 4 metres terminating at its junction with existing Footpath 26 St Just 18 metres north-east of ‘Due South’.
ii) Adding a length of Public Footpath in the Parish of St Just from Restricted Byway to be added by this Order 15 metres north-east of ‘Due South’ at OSGR SW 3676/2932, then running in a south-south-easterly, then south-easterly direction for 19 metres terminating at its junction with existing Footpath 27 St Just 23 metres east-south-east of ‘Due South’ at OSGR SW 3677/2931.
iii) Adding a length of Public Footpath in the Parish of St Just from existing Footpath 26 St Just to be upgraded to a Restricted Byway by this Order 18 metres north-east of ‘Due South’ at OSGR SW 3676/2932, then running in a northerly direction for 26 metres terminating at its junction with existing Footpath 25 St Just 41 metres north-north-east of ‘Due South’ at OSGR SW 3676/2935.

A copy of the Order & Map has been placed & may be seen free of charge at St Just Library, Market St, St Just, Cornwall, TR19 7HX, 930am-5pm on Tuesday & Thursday, 930am-130pm on Wednesday and 10am-1pm on Saturday (Bank Holidays excepted).
A copy may also be viewed at the Offices of Cornwall Council at New County Hall, Treyew Road, Truro, TR1 3AY from 9am to 5pm, from Monday to Friday (Bank Holidays excepted).
The order comes into force on the day that it is confirmed but if any person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity on the ground that that it is not within the powers of Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or on the ground that any requirement of Schedule 15 of the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may under paragraph 12 (1) of Schedule 15 to the Act within six weeks from 4 December 2025, make application to the High Court. 4 December 2025
