What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL SECTION 123(2A) LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 1972

Notice of Intended Disposal of Open Space Land Notice is hereby given in accordance with Section 123(2A) Local Government Act 1972 that Cumberland Council is considering the disposal by way of the freehold of an area of land at Caldbeck Common, Caldbeck.

This is a formal Notice given insofar as the above parcel of land consists of or forms part of open space within the meaning of the above Section. Copies of a plan showing the location of the land described in the Schedule to this Notice may be inspected at the Civic Centre, Rickergate, Carlisle, from 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am to 4.00pm on Fridays commencing on 28 November 2025.

Objections to the proposed disposal should be made in writing and addressed to Clare Liddle, Chief Legal Officer, Cumberland Council, Civic Centre, Rickergate, Carlisle, CA3 8QG by no later than close of business on Friday 2 January 2026
