Session 2026/27 Nursery Applications
All three and four-years olds are eligible for funded hours of Early Learning and Childcare.
Parents/carers of children who reach the age of 3 on or before 28 February 2027 can apply for a funded place in a Fife Council nursery, or in a private nursery, playgroup or childminder working in partnership with Fife Council.
Those wishing to make an application to a Fife Council nursery can apply online at www.fife.gov. uk/earlyyears from 15th December 2025 and should do so before 31 January 2026. This is an easy process that can be done from your smart phone, tablet or laptop. To apply online you’ll be asked to create a mygov.scot ‘myaccount’ if you don’t already have one.
Nursery places are allocated in line with
Fife Council’s Early Years Admissions Policy. Applications should be made for children due to start nursery at any point in the following academic session – August 2026, January 2027 or April 2027.

You will be notified in writing by the end of March 2026 of the outcome of your application.
Primary School Enrolment
Applications for primary aged pupils due to start Primary One in August 2026 should be completed online, from 5 January 2026 at https://www.fife. gov.uk/applyforaschoolplace. Parents/carers can use this form to also apply for a placing request at a non-catchment primary school.

The deadline for applications is 15 March 2026. You will be notified in writing by 30 April 2026 of the outcome of any placing request application.
Secondary School Enrolment
Parents/carers of a child due to start secondary school in August 2026 will be enrolled in their catchment secondary school automatically. Parent who wish to submit a placing request must apply online from 15 December 2025 – 15 March 2026 at https://www.fife.gov.uk/ applyforaschoolplace.

The deadline for applications is midnight on
15 March 2026. You will be notified in writing by 30 April 2026 of the outcome of any placing request application.
