Notice of Application for New Transfer Licence
The Environment Agency is applying to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
The application is for a new transfer licence for a fish pass between the River Thames at National Grid Reference (NGR) SP 47059 11071 and Seacourt Stream at NGR SP 47150 10051. An existing transfer from the River Thames at NGR SP 47152 10084 to the Seacourt Stream at NGR SP 47152 10084 also used for the purpose of fish passage will be added to this licence too. The total volume of water transferred to Seacourt Stream will vary with the flow of the River Thames. It is estimated that at peak flows 179,000 cubic metres per day will be transferred in total. The average daily volume to be transferred is expected to be 121,400 cubic metres. Abstraction will take place all year.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

Send any representation about this application in writing, quoting the reference number NPS/WR/043006 to the Environment Agency, at the Permitting and Support Centre, Water Resources Team, Quadrant 2, 99 Parkway Avenue, Sheffield, S9 4WF or by email to PSC-WaterResources@environment-agency.gov.ukby 24th December 2025.
After the 24th December 2025, the Environment Agency will be able to grant a licence authorising the proposal. The licence shall be viewed as granted, unless the Secretary of State, either as a result of any representations made about the proposal or otherwise, instructs or asks for an application to be made to them.
