What is happening?

THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES (MEMBERS ALLOWANCES) (ENGLAND) REGULATIONS 2003

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL – INDEPENDENT REMUNERATION PANEL RECOMMENDATIONS

Cumberland Council received a report from the Independent Remuneration Panel (IRP) appointed by Cumberland Council, which set out the Panel's recommendations in respect of the Scheme of Allowances to be paid to Councillors.

Cumberland Council formally agreed the recommendations of the IRP.

Copies of the recommendations are available be seen on the Council’s website Agenda for Council on Tuesday 9 September 2025, 1.00 pm | Cumberland Council

The main features of the recommendations are that the following annual allowances be paid from 1 April 2025:--
