CALL FOR SITES EXERCISE
THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (LOCAL PLANNING) (ENGLAND) REGULATIONS 2012
Maidstone Borough Council is undertaking a third public consultation on the Gypsy, Traveller and Travelling Showpeople Development Plan Document (DPD), known as the Preferred Polices and Potential Sites (Regulation 18c) stage. The Plan sets out the preferred policies and potential sites being considered.
The Council is also seeking to identify potentially suitable sites for the future provision of Gypsy and Traveller pitches and Travelling Showpeople plots, through a Call for Sites exercise.

To comment on the draft DPD and to make Call for Sites submissions,
please visit: https://maidstone.oc2.uk
Alternatively, submissions may also be made by email to LDF@maidstone.gov.uk or by post to Strategic Planning, Maidstone Borough Council, Maidstone House, King Street, Maidstone, ME15 6JQ. Paper copies of forms can be requested by email
LDF@maidstone.gov.uk or by calling 01622 602000.
Period for responses:
The period for submitting comments and sites will be from 9.30am on
27 November 2025 to 5.00pm on 11 January 2026. Anything received by
the Council outside of this period may not be accepted.
All consultation comments and call for sites submissions will be made publicly available (https://maidstone.oc2.uk). This is so that interested parties can view all the responses that have been received. Published information will include the comment and responder name. All demographic and contact data will be removed. All data is processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018.
The consultation responses will be used to inform the next stages of the Gypsy, Traveller and Travelling Showpeople DPD.
