Notice is given that Rochdale Borough Council is considering the creation of a new satellite school, to be managed by:
Redwood Special School, whose main address is Hudsons Walk, Rochdale , OL11 5EW
Rochdale Council is now consulting on a proposal to increase the capacity of places managed by Redwood Special School, from September 2028, through the opening of a new satellite school at a site off Heywood Old Road, West Middleton ward, Middleton.
The change at the school would increase the total school capacity by 64 places, for children between the ages of 11 and 19 years, from September 2028. The applications process for Redwood School is done through an Education, Care and Health Plan assessment and decided by a multiagency Special Education and Needs Panel process.
Rochdale Borough Council will implement the proposal if approved by the Director for Children’s Services following the statutory consultation.

The consultation ends at midnight on the 19 th December 2025.
