Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2025

The above Order, made on 17 October 2025, if confirmed as made, will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by adding to them:

Footpath 59, Chickerell:

From Footpath 54, Chickerell SY 6569 8193 east to Chickerell/Weymouth Parish Boundary at SY 6571 8193. The width is 2 metres.

Footpath 173, Weymouth:

From Chickerell/Weymouth Parish boundary at SY 6571 8193 east across an open field to a gap in the hedge SY 6591 8193 continuing east along the northern side of the hedgerow to SY 6614 8193 where the route continues south south east to a gap in the hedge at SY 6618 8187 then continuing generally south east to Footpath 66, Weymouth at SY 6626 8182. The width is 2 metres.

A copy of the Order and the Order map may be seen free of charge at Reception, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester during normal office hours. Copies are also available on our website at www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/row-orders

Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to Sue Phillips, Technical Officer, Definitive Map Team, Spatial Planning, Dorset Council, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester, Dorset, DT1 1XJ (Ref: RW/T555), or via email to susan.phillips@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk not later than 08 January 2026.

Please state the grounds on which they are made. Any letters received will be made available for public inspection.

If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Dorset Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs may itself confirm the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
