What is happening?

Scrap metal fees

Canterbury City Council intends, in accordance with the provisions of the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013, to vary the existing table of fees for the scrap metal trade with effect from 1 April 2026 as follows:

Three year collector’s licence £481.32
Three year site licence £721.96
Replacement of licence £27.54
Minor variations to licence, e.g. change of address £41.28
Detailed variations to licence, e.g. change of site manager £68.75
Conversion of collector’s licence to site licence £302.52
Conversion of site licence to collector’s licence £110.05

 

A copy of this notice has been deposited at the offices of the council at  14 Rose Lane, Canterbury and may be inspected free of charge during the hours of 10am and 2pm Mondays to Fridays inclusive.

Any objections to the proposed variation to the table of fees should be made in writing or by e-mail to the undersigned at the address below by Tuesday  6 January 2026.
