Notice of application for a transfer licence to abstract (take) water

KBS Maritime Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application

(in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991) and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract water from the underground strata comprising of the Witterings sands layer at HM Naval Base, Portsmouth within the area contained within the boundary formed by straight lines running between the following National Grid References: SU 62733 00720, SU 62756 00741, SU 62752 00695 & SU 62721 00694 to transfer it to Portsmouth harbour at National Grid Reference SU 62733 00720 without intervening use for the purpose of dewatering.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

• 54 cubic metres an hour • 1,100 cubic metres a day • 75,000 cubic metres a year
