Application for a variation of an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016

We’ve received an application for a variation to a permit from Powerfuel Portland Limited. We must decide whether to grant or refuse the application. If we grant it, we must decide what conditions to include in the permit.

Regulated facility type: 5.1 A(1)(b) The incineration of non-hazardous waste in an incineration plant with a capacity exceeding 3 tonnes per hour.

This is a variation application to change the permitted waste types and this consultation is only for the scope of the variation.

The application contains a description of how the proposed changes may affect (1) the installation; (2) the materials, substances and energy it will use and generate; (3) the conditions of the site; (4) the source, nature and quantity of its foreseeable emissions and their significant effects on the environment; (5) the proposed techniques for preventing, reducing, and monitoring its emissions and preventing and recovering waste; and (6) an outline of the main alternatives, if any, considered.
