What is happening?

BRECKLAND COUNCIL FEES FOR HACKNEY CARRIAGE AND PRIVATE HIRE LICENCES

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to Sections 53 and 70 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976, that Breckland Council proposes to vary the fees payable for the matters listed below as from 1st April 2026 unless objection is made and not withdrawn:- Type Existing Fee New Fee Taxi Driver Grant £314.00 £322.00 Taxi Driver Renewal £284.00 £284.00 Hackney Carriage Grant £300.00 £316.00 Hackney Carriage Renewal £269.00 £293.00 Private Hire Vehicle Grant £239.00 £255.00 Private Hire Vehicle Renewal £227.00 £244.00 Private Hire Operator Grant £489.00 £490.00 Private Hire Operator Renewal £479.00 £480.00

Objections to the proposed variations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, must be sent in writing to: Licensing Team, Breckland Council, Elizabeth House, Walpole Loke, Dereham, Norfolk, NR19 1EE no later than 30th November 2025.

In accordance with Section 70 (3) (b) of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 a copy of this notice will be available for public inspection during normal office hours at the Council's Offices at Elizabeth House, Walpole Loke, Dereham, Norfolk, NR19 1EE until 30th November 2025.

Any objection made and not withdrawn will be considered by the Licensing Committee and the fees, with or without modification, shall come into force on 1st April 2026.
