What is happening?

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN ORDER

Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981

NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

(KING’S LYNN, SPRING WOOD) MODIFICATION ORDER 2022

The above Order, made on 22 June 2022, was confirmed by an Inspector appointed by The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on 3rd September 2025.

The effect of the Order, as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding;

In the Borough of King’s Lynn

Footpath (Baldwin Road to Suffolk Road)

Starts from the U20744 Baldwin Road at grid reference TF 6445 2060 and runs in a generally south south westerly direction for approximately 80 metres to meet the U20745 Suffolk Road at grid reference TF 6444 2052. The width of the path extends between boundary features at a width of 1.8 metres.

Limitations and conditions: none.

Footpath

Starts from a point on the previously mentioned footpath at grid reference TF 6445 2056 and runs in a generally east south easterly direction for approximately 59 metres to join Cycle Path 2Y28 at grid reference TF 6450 2056. The width of the path extends between boundary features at a width of 2.2 metres.

Limitations and conditions: none.

Footpath (Cycle Path 2Y28 to U23049 Langland)

Starts from the Shared Use Cycle Path 2Y28 at grid reference TF 6452 2056 and runs in a generally east south easterly direction for approximately 5.5 metres to grid reference TF 6452 2056 where the path turns to run in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 23 metres to grid reference TF 6454 2057 where the path turns to run in an east south easterly direction for approximately 78 metres to grid reference TF 6462 2056 where the path turns to run in a north easterly direction for approximately 50 metres to meet the U23049 Langland at grid reference TF 6466 2059. The width of the path is 1.8 metres.

Limitations and conditions: none.

Footpath

Starts from a point on the previously mentioned footpath at grid reference TF 6452 2056 and runs in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 31 metres to grid reference TF 6454 2054 where the path turns to run in an east south easterly direction for approximately 48 metres to grid reference TF 6459 2053 where the path turns to run in a north easterly direction for approximately 44 metres to meet the above mentioned footpath at grid reference TF 6462 2056 where the path turns to run in a south easterly direction for approximately 20 metres to grid reference TF 6463 2054 where the path turns to run in a generally east south easterly direction for approximately 23 metres to meet the U23049 Langland at grid reference TF 6466 2054 opposite and on the other side of the road to the footpath leading to Courtroll Place. The width of the path is 1.8 metres.

A copy of the order and order map may be seen free of charge at Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, NR1 2SG (please contact legalordersandregisters@norfolk.gov.uk in advance) and at the offices of Borough Council of King's Lynn & West Norfolk, Kings Court, Chapel Street, King's Lynn, Norfolk, PE30 1EX during normal office hours or purchased at a cost of £5.00 from the undersigned.

The Order took effect on the 3rd September 2025 but if a person aggrieved by the Order desires to question its validity, or the validity of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or on the grounds that any requirement of Schedule 15 of that Act, or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order he may, under paragraph 12(1) of Schedule 15 to the Act, make an application for that purpose to the High Court not later than 11th December 2025.
