What is happening?

EAST SUFFOLK COUNCIL

LOCAL GOVERNMENT (MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS)

ACT 1982 PART 3 - STREET TRADING

Notice is hereby given that East Suffolk Council has passed the following resolution on 20 October 2025 (Licensing Committee) for the purpose of regulating street trading:

That all streets within the district of East Suffolk, are undesignated save those streets set out within the Council’s Street Trading Policy, which will come into effect on 1 December 2025, as Consent streets or Prohibited streets (https://www.eastsuffolk.gov.uk/business/licensing/other-licences/street-trading/

) and to rescind any earlier resolutions passed by East Suffolk Council, or the former Waveney District Council, to designate streets for the purposes of street trading.

The effect is to require persons to obtain consent from East Suffolk Council to trade on consent streets for purposes of a community event only, and to prohibit street trading on prohibited streets with effect from 1 December 2025.
