REMOVAL OF RESTRICTIONS ON WATER USE
SOUTHERN WATER SERVICES LIMITED
ISSUED UNDER SECTION 76B OF THE WATER INDUSTRY ACT 1991
Since 21 July 2025 a number of temporary restrictions on the use of water (with some exceptions) have been in force in the Hampshire and Isle of Wight area.
We are pleased to announce that all these restrictions are lifted with immediate effect.
This applies to all previously restricted activities involving the use of a hosepipe, including:
• Watering gardens and plants
• Cleaning private vehicles and leisure boats
• Filling or maintaining swimming and paddling pools
• Filling or maintaining domestic ponds
• Cleaning patios, paths, and outdoor surfaces
• Cleaning walls or windows of domestic premises
• Filling ornamental fountains
• Recreational use of water
Following improved water resource conditions, the restrictions are no longer necessary.
We thank our customers for their cooperation and continued commitment to water conservation. We ask customers to continue to show restraint and to use water responsibly to help secure future supplies.
