NOTICE OF MODIFICATION ORDER
What is happening?
WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981,
SECTION 53 THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE
(RUSHCLIFFE) DEFINITIVE MAP AND
STATEMENT THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE
COUNTY COUNCIL (COSTOCK FOOTPATH
NOS. 9 AND 10) MODIFICATION ORDER 2025
The above Order made on Friday 17 th October 2025
under Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981,
if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and
Statement for the above Area by adding a footpath that
commences from the junction with Bunny Hill (A60) at
SK 5787 2783 (point A on the Order Plan) and proceeds
along Ash Lane with no limitations for approximately 900
metres in a generally westerly direction to join Costock
Footpath No.6 at SK 5699 2793 (point C on the Order
Plan) and with a width of approximately 3 metres, and
by adding a footpath that commences from the junction
with Costock Footpath No.9 at SK 5723 2793 (point B
on the Order Plan) and proceeds along Ash Lane with
no limitations for approximately 85 metres in a northerly
direction to the junction with Costock Footpath No.6 at SK
5724 2801 (point D on the Order Plan) and with a width of
approximately 2.5 metres, as described in the Order and
shown on the order map.
A copy of the order, the order maps and the statement
of reasons may be seen free of charge at my Office at
the address below between the hours of 9.00 am and
4.30 pm Mondays to Fridays inclusive, and at Rushcliffe
Borough Council, Rushcliffe Arena, Rugby Road, West
Bridgford, Nottingham, NG2 7YG, and also at East
Leake Library, Gotham Road, Loughborough, LE12 6JG,
during the respective normal opening hours until Monday
15th December 2025. The order may be viewed on the
Nottinghamshire County Council website under Rights
of way news, or a copy can be obtained by e-mailing
Countryside.Access@nottscc.gov.uk. Paper copies of the
Order and Map may be purchased from my Office at the address below at a cost of £5 per copy.
Any representations about or objections to the Order
must be received by the Countryside Access Team at the
address given below not later than Monday 15th December
2025. Please state the grounds on which they are made.
If no such representations or objections are duly made
to the Order, or any part of it, or if any so made are
withdrawn, the Nottinghamshire County Council, instead of
submitting the Order to the Secretary of State (or part of it
if the Authority has by notice to the Secretary of State so
elected under Paragraph 5 of Schedule 15 to the Wildlife &
Countryside Act 1981) may itself confirm the Order (or that
part of the Order) as an unopposed Order. If the Order is
submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, (in
whole or in part), any representations or objections which
have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
