What is happening?

ENVIRONMENT AGENCY

Water Resources Act 1991 (as amended by the Water Act 2003)

Notice of application to vary a full licence to abstract (take) water

Sibelco UK Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number NW/068/0002/023/R01 which authorises the abstraction of water from sands and gravels at Rudheath Lodge Quarry, Cheshire.

The variation applied for is to increase the abstraction quantity as follows:

For condition 6.1 – Conveying material:

• Hourly from 330 cubic metres to 650 cubic metres • Daily from 3,630 cubic metres to 7,150 cubic metres • Yearly from 998,250 cubic metres to 1,966,250 cubic metres.

For conditions 6.2 and 6.3 combined – Dust suppression and mineral washing:

• Hourly from 120 cubic metres to 210 cubic metres • Daily from 1,360 cubic metres to 2,310 cubic metres • Yearly from 370,000 cubic metres 635,250 cubic metres.
