Mae Cyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Torfaen yn dymuno penodi un berson annibynnol i eistedd ar ei Bwyllgor Moeseg a Safonau. Swyddogaethau’r pwyllgor yw hyrwyddo a chynnal safonau uchel o ymddygiad gan aelodau etholedig a chyfetholedig y Cyngor a Chynghorau Cymuned yn ei ardal. Gall yr oriau amrywio ac mae’r cyflog yn amrywio o £105 i £210, neu £26.25 yr awr y cyfarfod ynghyd â threuliau teithio a chostau cynhaliaeth

O ran y penodiadau, bydd ymgeiswyr yn cael eu mesur yn erbyn y meini prawf canlynol a sefydlwyd gan y Cyngor:–

  • Annibyniaeth Wleidyddol

  • Y gallu i ddangos gwybodaeth a dealltwriaeth o ddeddfwriaeth a chanllawiau sy’n ymwneud ag achosion ymddygiad mewn bywyd cyhoeddus

  • Profiad o rôl gyda atebolrwydd cyhoeddus

  • Y gallu i herio’r Cyngor mewn perthynas â’i safonau mewn ffordd deg a chytun

  • Deall a pharchu cyfrinachedd

  • Uniondeb personol ac ariannol

  • Sgiliau cyfathrebu effeithiol

TORFAEN COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL

ETHICS AND STANDARDS COMMITTEE

Torfaen County Borough Council is seeking to appoint one independent person to sit on its Ethics and Standards Committee. The functions of the committee are to promote and maintain high standards of conduct by elected and co-opted members of the Council and Community Councils within its area. The hours can vary, and the salary ranges from £105 to £210 per meeting, or £26.25 per hour plus traveling and subsistence expenses.

Applicants will be measured against the following criteria for appointment which have been established by the Council:–

• Political Independence

• The ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of legislation and guidance relating to cases of conduct in public life

• Experience in a role with public accountability

• Ability to challenge the Council in relation to its standards in a fair and consistent way

• To understand and respect confidentiality

• Personal and financial integrity

• Effective communication skills

• Not a close relative of any councillor or employee of the council and/or in a business relationship with the council

• Experience of weighing information and evidence to reach a conclusion.
