Taxi Stances

Notice is hereby given that South Lanarkshire Council, as Licensing Authority for the licensing of taxis in the Clydesdale Zone of South Lanarkshire in terms of Section 19 of the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 (as amended) propose to appoint the following temporary taxi stance in the Clydesdale Zone namely: -

Temporarily relocate 5 spaces for taxis from Bannatyne Street, Lanark taxi stance to Ladyacre Road Park and Ride, Lanark (2 spaces for taxis on Bannatyne Street will remain), Monday to Sunday 24 hours. Starting 12 January 2026 or such later date as determined by South Lanarkshire Council for the duration of the Lanark Bus Interchange redevelopment works which should take approximately 16 weeks.

A copy of this proposal together with a list of existing appointed taxi stances for the Clydesdale Zone of South Lanarkshire has been deposited at the offices of the Head of Administration and Legal Services, South Lanarkshire Council, Council Offices, Licensing and Registration, Floor 11, Almada Street, Hamilton and is now available for public inspection without payment of fee between the hours of 8.45am to 4.30pm, Mondays to Thursdays and 8.45am to 4.00pm on Fridays for 28 days from today’s date.

Any person wishing to make an objection or representation in respect of the said proposals may on or before 26 November 2025 notify in writing their objection or representation to the Head of Administration and Legal Services, South Lanarkshire Council at the above address.

The council will take into account any objections or representation so made and will consider the appointment of the said taxi stance, whether under modification or otherwise, either at a future meeting of the council’s Licensing Committee or under delegated powers if there are no such objections or representations.
