Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI)

Scottish Natural Heritage (hereinafter referred to as NatureScot) gives notice that from 16 October 2025 it has notified Doon Valley Wetlands SSSI, comprising the merger and extension of the former Bogton Loch SSSI and Dalmellington Moss SSSI.

The boundary maps, descriptions of the land and the reasons why NatureScot considers it to be of special interest can be viewed at https://www.nature.scot/professional-advice/protected-areas-and-species/protected-areas/protected-area-notices.

NatureScot will consider written representations received by 19 January 2026.

This notification will cease to have effect if NatureScot withdraws it, or does not confirm it by 16 October 2026.
