Public Notice

Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum

The Russell-Cotes has been actively reviewing its governance since 2018. Currently, BCP Council is the sole trustee of the Charity and this is no longer fit for purpose. The main purpose of the scheme is to appoint a new independent not for profit company (RCAGM Sole Trustee Ltd) to be trustee for the Charity. The company will take over the management of the museum from BCP Council. This has benefits including enabling the Charity to access more diverse funding and include a wide range of experts in its management so that it can thrive in the future. This change does not affect the charitable purpose and activities of the Russell-Cotes or ownership of the house and collections which remain with the existing Russell-Cotes Charity. The scheme also includes some technical changes to keep the administration of the Charity as it is at the moment.

We are required to provide a period of public notice of the changes, giving stakeholders an opportunity to make representations directly to the Charity Commission.

Please see the public notice document at https://russellcotes.com/public-notice for further information.
