Notice Of Making Of An Order Section 53 Of The Wildlife And Countryside Act 1981 - Norfolk County Council (Overstrand & Northrepps) Modification Order 2025
The above Order, made on 3rd September 2025, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by upgrading Overstrand Footpath No. 8 to a Restricted Byway in the parish of Overstrand and by adding a Byway Open to All Traffic in the parish of Northrepps.
The Restricted Byway starts at C634 Mundesley Road at grid reference TG 2496 4047 and proceeds in a south easterly arc for approximately 156 metres to grid reference TG 2501 4035 and then in a south westerly arc for approximately 12 metres to grid reference TG 2502 4034 and then in a south westerly direction for approximately 22 metres to the parish boundary at grid reference TG 2501 4032.
The width varies between 4.5 metres and 3 metres as indicated by the solid feature lines on the 1:2500 Ordnance Survey 1905 County Series Second Edition map. Limitations and Conditions: None.
The Byway Open to All Traffic starts at the parish boundary at the northern end of U4292 Madams Lane at grid reference TG 2501 4032 and proceeds in a generally south westerly direction for approximately 740 metres to a point on U4292 Madams Lane at grid reference TG 2460 3973.
The width varies between 9 metres and 2 metres as indicated by the solid feature lines on the 1:2500 Ordnance Survey 1905 County Series Second Edition map. Limitations and Conditions: None.
A copy of the order and order map may be seen free of charge at: County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, Norfolk, NR1 2SG, and at the offices of: North Norfolk District Council - Council Offices, Holt Road, Cromer, Norfolk, NR27 9EN, during normal office hours or purchased at a cost of £5.00 from the undersigned.
Any representation or objection relating to the order must be sent in writing to the Senior Legal Orders Officer, Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, NR1 2SG, or by email to: legalordersandregisters@norfolk.gov.uk not later than 28th November 2025, and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which it is made. If no such representations or objections are duly made to the order, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Norfolk County Council, instead of submitting the order to the Secretary of State may itself confirm the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
